Donald MacDonald

Donald MacDonald made exquisite bagpipes in Edinburgh between 1806 and 1840. Few examples of his work are with us today, however they remind us of the skill and care of old world craftsmanship.

This is another MacDonald style that you might see, although MacDonald bagpipes are quite rare.  Cocus wood with elephant ivory ring and top bead.

The set below is a 3/4 or reel sized set.  There may be other sets around, but I certainly don't know of them.  Even with this simpler design, grace and style is evident.
