These parts also have "early Edinburgh" written all over them. The bead atop the ivory ring makes one
want to associate this work to Donald MacDonald however this feature may have been more common that specific
to one maker. Of course makers did not remain 100% faithful to any one design and they may have copied
other makers in whole or in part. This leaves us with a considerable task in identifying the maker and
the probable date of manufacture.

I could study the design and detail of old bagpipes for hours and not tire. There is no doubt that
the parts have suffered at the hands of Father Time and a troublesome journey however the beauty and
sytle endures.
