Unknown # 16

This is a great set of very early bagpipes in the style of the old Edinburgh makers.  You can see that they used small stock wood with plenty of sapwood.

So who made them?  I really don't know.  There were so many obscure or undocumented makers from the early days.  Without hard evidence we're only grasping at straws in many instances.  Here are a couple of "before" shots.

Here are a few shots of the pieces cleaned up.  It's rare to find a bagpipe this old in such good condition.  I reckoned that the bagpipe was made early 19th century.
