Here's an old bagpipe that's got me a bit stumped.  I want to say "old Lawrie" however there are a number of features that won't let me.  So was this an early knock-off of Lawrie's short ferrule style or did Lawrie "borrow" that from someone else?  If only they could talk!  This bagpipe belongs to Bill Hunter who I met while doing a workshop in Atlanta.  Bill was kind enough to let me take a few pictures.

I figure the age to be pre-WWI.  One could easily say "Lawrie" however when you put it side-by-side with other old Lawrie bagpipes from that era there are some real significant differences.  I wish I'd have brought my calipers on that trip!
