These bagpipes are stamped "Williamson" and there is surely a connection to "Williamson & Jeffray" who
are listed in Jeannie Campbell's book as making bagpipes between 1948 and 1950. Both Williamson and
Jeffray were employed by Henderson bagpipes prior to this time. Williamson was an apprentice at Henderson's
just prior to Jack Dunbar and was known to be an excellent turner. Jeffray tied in pipe bags and otherwise
made the finished product ready for the customer. Without the stamp (between the cord beads) could these
bagpipes be mistaken for Henderson bagpipes? I think so.

Here`s another bagpipe stamped Williamson between the cord beads. The imitation ivory material
is catalin and judging from the degree of oxidation the pipes appear to have been made around 1950.
One stock is obviously a replacement however the rest of the bagpipe is in excellent condition. Without
the stamp one would be hard-pressed not to say Henderson!
