1. Ivory ferrule – may or may not have projecting bead – may
or may not have decorative cut bead.
2. Stock has straight lines from small end to large end –
wood may be angled under ferrule – larger than Glen but smaller than Robertson or Henderson
3.
Stock has rounded bottom – not unusual to find tenor stocks of differing length
4. Tenor has thick,
straight sides – not unusual to find tenors sections of differing lengths – style of projecting mount
varies however generally smaller diameter
5. Substantial fountain supporting bell – ring and
bush may or may not have bead
6. Very wide channel between cord beads – sometimes on tenors, always
on bass
7. Tenor neck is hefty relative to tuning chamber
